3 Days before our wedding at our Bed and Breakfast near Le Dorat

Sometimes we did have to wonder if there wasn't a force driving against us and trying to tell us something.

It was Tuesday 3 days before the wedding and 5 days before the party, the food and drink shopping had all been done and in the freezer ready to be transformed into a spectacular buffet on Saturday ready for Sunday.

Family and friends would start to arrive on Thursday, we would have the official legal ceremony on Friday and the hand fastening ceremony and full on party on the Sunday.

Wednesday morning and we are in the barn getting tables laid out and stringing up lights when we find that the power had tripped out. Not such a disaster if this wasn't where the freezer full of salmons and joints of meat for Sunday were being kept, and the weather wasn't some of the hottest of the year.

Looking on the bright side it could have only been off for a couple of days at most, as most of the food was not fully defrosted.

Now I had to cook all day long, 9 whole salmon, and several joints of pork, beef and hams so that they could be frozen again, just what we needed when there was so much more that I could have been doing. But there was no other options we couldn't afford to replace any of the food this was a wedding on a very tight budget, thank goodness we had found out in time.

If it wasn't for the fact that we were so busy and hadn't had time to dwell on the catalogue of misfortunate events that had happened in recent weeks , we could have thrown in the towel.

As always we could not and would not give up.
